A Forklift History Rooted in Customer Service
In 1960, Joseph Tynan started the Tynan Equipment Company in a small shop off of North Harding Street in Indianapolis. As an early dealer for the Automatic Lift Truck Company -- now known as Yale – Tynan was one of the first material handling equipment companies in Indiana. From that shop, Joseph started the tradition of superior customer service that we keep today.
In 1979, Tynan expanded and took our forklift sales and service to a new 33,000-square-foot headquarters on the south side of Indianapolis. With the acquisition of Industrial Energy Company in 1989 and IndyLift in 2010, we were able to add additional facilities to serve Lafayette, Columbus, and Terre Haute. Now we have become one of the largest forklift service providers in Indiana.
